2G & 3G Network Sunsets

As many of our partner operators are closing their 2G & 3G services, we are keeping you updated with the latest changes.

All the history of the planned sunset details can be found in the Prices & Coverage file shared with you by your account manager (upon contract signature, and every 3 to 6 months for updated prices).

This page will sum up the latest details we received from the GSMA and from our partner MNOs.

Latest closure announcements:
Based on the June 2023 GSMA update, here are the most recent planned closure dates for 3G services:
 
UK: H3G plans to shut down its 3G network by 31/12/2024.
Austria: T-Mobile Austria has set the date for its 3G network sunset for 31/12/2024.
France: SFR has set the date for its 2G closure as 12/31/2026 and 3G closure as 12/31/2028. Other operator, Bouygues announced it’s 2G closure as 31/12/2026 and 3G closure as 31/12/2029
Brazil: Proximus announced that will sunset 3G by January 2024
Oman: Omantel will begin it’s 3G closure from July 2024
Kuwait: Ooredoo Kuwait is in process of closure of 3G and should end by Q3 2023
China: China Unicom will begin early 2024 for both 2G and 3G
